General Info about High School Bowling

  • In 2015-16, there are 207 high schools in Florida participating in high school bowling. (Source: FHSAA)
  • National statistics show that over 75% of student athletes participating in high school bowling do not participate in any other sport.
  • There are no additional strains on existing athletic fields and school facilities with no added maintenance costs.
  • Bowling has no size, strength or gender limitations.
  • Bowling is a non-contact sport with an excellent health and safety record.
  • Athletes compete in a safe, supervised, clean and alcohol and tobacco free environment.
  • Student athletes have an opportunity to represent their school in athletic competition.
  • Bowling is a lifetime sport allowing student athletes an activity they can continue the rest of their lives.

Crystal Singh rolls BCHSB First 300 Game!

Broward County High School Bowling has its first-ever perfect game during the first week of the 2016 HS bowling season. Crystal Singh not only rolled 300 in game one, her 236 second game gave her two new BCHSB girls county records:

Broward County advance to the Top-16 matchplay singles finals:

2013/14 Girls "Athlete of the Year"
during their year-end Sports Gala.

Congratulations Krystina for becoming the first bowler ever
selected "Athlete of the Year" from any school in South Florida!

Do Your High School Kids Like To Bowl?

Mike Nyitray, U.S. Olympic Committee 2010 National Developmental Coach of the Year and creator of the Broward County high school bowling program, hosted four monthly public meetings explaining the simple process of what is needed to bring bowling to Coconut Creek high schools: Monarch HS, Coconut Creek HS and North Broward Preparatory School.

Parents, students, teachers and school administrators were invited to attend this 20 minute presentation about this innovative program.
